In Albania, the authority responsible for corporate registration is the National Registration Center (Qendra Kombëtare e Regjistrimit, or QKR).  Albanian companies also register with the General Directorate of Taxes (Drejtoria e Pergjithshme e Tatimeve) to obtain a Tax Identification Number (NIPT). Common company types in Albania include Sh.p.k. (Shoqëri me përgjegjësi të kufizuar) and Sh.A.
